Exclusive Interview with Isabella Thorp
What inspired you to start creating content, and how has your focus evolved over time?
Turning 50 was really the catalyst, not so much inspiration as a calling to shift the narrative around aging. I wanted to show women that midlife isn’t something to fear or fade into, but something to embrace and live fully. The alternative, shrinking ourselves or feeling invisible simply wasn’t acceptable. What began as a personal expression of style and confidence has evolved into a platform to empower women to see aging as a privilege. My focus now is on inspiring others to thrive, to live boldly and unapologetically, and to see that beauty, relevance, and joy don’t have an expiration date.
How does your age and life experience shape the kind of content you share today?
Age brings a certain wisdom and confidence that allows me to be completely authentic, to “keep it reel,” as I like to say. I’ve lived enough life to know that perfection is overrated, and vulnerability is where connection happens. I’m pretty open about the good, the bad, and even the not-so-pretty moments, but always through the lens of optimism. I’ve learned that whatever we’re going through, this too shall pass, and there’s almost always a silver lining. That perspective shapes everything I share: real life, real growth, and the beauty of embracing it all.
What message do you hope to share with women (or men) 45 and older through your platform?
My message is simple: midlife is not a crisis, it’s an awakening. When I turned 50, I made a conscious choice to embrace this chapter and redefine what aging looks and feels like. Through my platform and community, I hope to inspire others to do the same, to see that this stage of life can be vibrant, stylish, and full of purpose. We’ve earned our wisdom, confidence, and the freedom to live life on our own terms. I want women and men 45 and older to know that aging is a privilege, and it’s never too late to reinvent yourself, chase new dreams, and live boldly and unapologetically.
What misconceptions about midlife or aging do you want to change through your influence?
One of the biggest misconceptions I want to change is the idea that once we hit midlife, we somehow lose our relevance, that we’re supposed to fade quietly into the background. I couldn’t disagree more. Midlife is not the end of our story, it’s a powerful new chapter. We’re wiser, stronger, and more self-assured than ever. I want to show that women in this season still have incredible influence, creativity, and purpose, and that our voices matter. We don’t lose our power with age, we step into it.
Who makes up your core audience, and what kind of community have you built?
My community is made up of amazing women over 40 who show up for each other. It’s more than a following, it’s a sisterhood built on authenticity, laughter, and the shared belief that aging is a privilege.”
What topics or types of content resonate most deeply with your audience?
While I’d describe my content as “lifestyle,” fashion continues to resonate the most with my audience. Style is often the entry point and how many women first connect with me, but it’s really about more than clothes. Through fashion, we talk about confidence, self-expression, and embracing who we are at every age. My audience loves seeing how style can evolve with us and reflect the vibrant, empowered lives we’re living in midlife and beyond.
What are some of your favorite brand collaborations, and what made them successful?
Some of my favorite collaborations have been with brands like Chico’s, Serovital, Elemis, Laura Geller Beauty, and OmegaXL. Each partnership worked because it was rooted in authenticity. I genuinely love and use these products in my everyday life. My audience can sense when something is real, and that trust is everything. Whether I’m sharing a skincare routine, wellness habit, or fashion find, the most successful collaborations are the ones that feel like a natural extension of who I am and how I live.
How do you decide which brands or partnerships align with your values?
Authenticity is everything to me. If I’ve tried and genuinely use a product or brand, the partnership is an easy yes. When a brand is new to me, I always ask myself one simple question: “Would I truly use this in my everyday life?” If the answer is yes, and it aligns with my values and the needs of my audience, then it’s a partnership worth pursuing. I never promote anything I wouldn’t personally stand behind, trust is the foundation of what I do.
What advice would you give to brands looking to collaborate with creators over 45?
We’re not a niche, we’re a powerhouse. Women over 45 have influence, experience, and serious purchasing power. When brands approach us as partners rather than just promoters, the results are always stronger and more impactful.
How would you describe your personal content style or aesthetic?
I’d say my style is always evolving, authentic, classy, and just a little extra. I love mixing sophistication with a touch of fun and flair because that’s who I am. My content reflects real life: polished but never pretentious, elevated yet relatable. Whether I’m sharing fashion, beauty, or lifestyle moments, I aim to inspire women to embrace their individuality, take up space, and show up fully themselves, because confidence is the best accessory at any age.
What trends do you think brands should pay more attention to when working with mature creators?
We’re not aging out of influence, we’re redefining it. Mature creators bring authenticity, trust, and real connection, and brands are finally starting to catch on.
What’s it like working with Pro-Age Talent?
Working with Pro-Age Talent has made the collaboration process so much easier and more seamless than managing it all on my own. They take so much off my plate, from communication and logistics to contract details, allowing me to focus on what I do best: the creative storytelling. Their support lets me fully immerse myself in producing authentic, high-quality content. Overall, it’s been a wonderful partnership that elevates both the experience and the results.
