What inspired you to start creating content, and how has your focus evolved over time?

I started creating content as an artistic outlet during COVID. I enjoyed the different creative aspects from styling the looks to planning the photography and writing the captions. Over time, my focus has evolved from straight up outfit-of-the-day shares to broader, inspirational lifestyle content including health and wellness, fashion and beauty, art, music, poetry, travel and experiences aimed at “Curating Ageless Vitality”.

How does your age and life experience shape the kind of content you share today?

I’m 58, and I’ve never been happier, healthier or more authentically myself. I hope to bring that confidence, curiosity and joy to my content to guide others toward enjoying and living their best life after 50 and beyond.

What message do you hope to share with women (or men) 45 and older through your platform?

I want them all to know that with a positive mindset that includes an open heart and mind, hope, curiosity, creativity and actionable adjustments in lifestyle habits, these can be the best years of our lives.

What misconceptions about midlife or aging do you want to change through your influence?

I want to change the notion that today’s 50+ers are only interested in slowing down and creating comfort. We are stronger, wiser, wealthier and more engaged, with more disposable time and income than other demographics. We are a goldmine for brands and advertisers and we don’t all have gray hair and low energy. I’d also like to challenge the notion that Menopause is the end of women’s vitality. On the contrary, it is a gift that allows us the freedom to put ourselves first, quite often for the first time in our lives, to explore our dreams and become the most pure version of ourselves.

Who makes up your core audience, and what kind of community have you built?

Interestingly, my largest demographic is women and men between the ages of 25-45, followed closely by people 50 and over. I am proud to say that I have an extremely engaged community with a rate of engagement in the top 1% of influencers in my space. They are the people, both younger and older, who want to live fully and vitally at every age, and who understand that the best things in life can start after 50.

What topics or types of content resonate most deeply with your audience?

I hope there is a little bit of something for everyone in my content, from fashion to lifestyle, wellness, art, music and travel, but I get the most positive feedback on content related to aging with health and vitality. Younger followers especially are inspired to see what is possible after fifty and how full and wonderful life can continue to be.

What are some of your favorite brand collaborations, and what made them successful?

I’ve had so many wonderful collaborations, but at the top of the list is Tommy Bahama, Honey Birdette, Soma Intimates and Bravazzi Hard Italian Soda. What they all have in common that made the collaborations successful is that these brands recognize that the over 50 demographic is interested in living with joy and vitality, and they trusted me and my embodiment of this ethos to showcase their brand in that light.

How do you decide which brands or partnerships align with your values?

It’s fairly straightforward. My mission is “Curating Ageless Vitality”, so I just ask myself if the brand and the product contribute to that mission. If so, I’m thrilled to share that with my audience.

What advice would you give to brands looking to collaborate with creators over 45?

I think it’s important that brands realize that we aren’t slowing down! We don’t all have gray hair, and we aren’t just concerned with menopause and aches and pains. We still want to look and feel great and to have incredible experiences. Moreover, we have more disposable and discretionary income to realize the kind of lifestyle we want, and it’s not the lifestyle of the previous generation of over 50s. Mature consumers want to see people their age doing fun things, living life fully and enjoying it every bit as much, if not more, as our younger counterparts, and we have the freedom to do it!

How would you describe your personal content style or aesthetic?

My content style is approachable, relatable and authentic to my life, and I think that comes through. I have degrees in Art History and have worked in art and design most of my life. That background informs my personal aesthetic as does my affinity for Old Hollywood glamour and elegance.

What trends do you think brands should pay more attention to when working with mature creators?

Honestly, I think the beauty of working with mature creators is that we have the wisdom not to follow trends. We know that trends come and go, but what lasts is quality and what matters are the things that contribute to our life experience in meaningful ways.
